Al's Gift
.
Al received his gift today.
His long awaited treat.
It was delivered in two boxes
that were left down by his feet.
.
It's not often that you see him smile,
but smile he did today.
He carried up those boxes
and asked for me to stay.
.
"I need your help now, Sheila.
My laptop just came in.
I'll open up the boxes,
then you can plug it in."
.
I looked at him with slanted brow
and said "Exactly what do you mean?
Do you think that I'll do all the work
and you'll just dust the screen?"
.
He sighed and then excitedly
looked at his second gift.
"Oh Yeah..and it comes with a printer too,
so here's the Install Disc."
.
"I really need your help, Sheila,
as I haven't got a clue.
Take your time and set it up
then tell me when you're through."
.
The air was blue when I got through
with telling him what I thought.
I handed him the "How To" book
"Now show me what you've got!"
.
He opened the instruction booklet
and slowly read out loud.
and slowly read out loud.
"Insert the disc into the drive"
his voice now firm and proud.
.
With disc in hand he walk on over
to the printer/copier/scanner.
and tried to find the missing drive
in every kind of manner.
.
"Sheila!" he said in a frustrated voice.
"I can't find where it goes."
I looked at him in disbelief
whispering "Lord only knows.....".
.
"Go have a coffee with your friends
and be home again by three.
I'll have your 'puter up and running
before you're back....you'll see."

Oh my, you're becoming my daily devotion. I get up and look to see if you've written anything new.
I'm becoming a fan!
