The Ride

Life is one big Amusement Park ride,
and once you're on.....you're on.
.
The Ferris Wheel offers a slow moving,
easy life and the riders
seem miles above the chaos
and lives of those below......
.
Others are content to climb on the
Carousel and are blissfully carried
through life without a care.
.
Then there are those that ride the Pirate Ships
who have always desired to sail away...
Back and forth they go without
seeing beyond the bow.
.
The adventurers who risk life and limb
happily climb heights only to rely on
man made safety lines before they leap
from platforms without a thought.
.
Still others ride on the Roller Coaster
with a smile of anticipation until the ups
and downs, twists and turns catch them
off guard and hurtle them around
unknown curves.
.
I am unable to climb down from my ride
yet I often catch a glimpse of the Merry-Go-Round
that is close yet seems so far.....
What bliss to be carried for just a while.....
