Spring Break

I've waited a while for this day to arrive;
and what a long Spring Break it has been!
There were kids, lots of pets, and a puppy to boot
now my home could be posted 'Unclean!'
.
The laundry's piled up, though I finished it all.
I guess it's easier to return clothes to me, than
to carry the shirts I've folded and pressed,
because that's more like work, you see.
.
I was sure they'd sleep in, but no not my girls!
They had days full of fun things to do.
But today was the day they heard me proclaim,
"Get up and get ready for school!"
.
I looked at their faces all sighing and sad...
as the smile stayed glued to my face.
Learning's the key to your future, my dears,
and it's compulsory that I have my space!
