New Years Eve

New Years Eve will soon be here....
just one more sleep to go.
There was a time we would stay up,
but now I don't think so....
.
When we were young we had our fun
and danced the night away.
But now our young kick up their heels
while we're at home to stay.
.
There was a time...my husband mused
he still remembers when....
We could do it now if we wanted to
and dance all night again!
.
You think we could? I asked of him,
as I kissed him on the cheek.
Perhaps with younger bodies
and if we rested for a week!
