How Rude!
.
You'll never guess who's visiting,
says my hubby with a smile.
He'll be coming over for dinner
and be staying for a while.
.
It's not the friend I'm thinking, is it?
the one who is so rude?
the one who is so rude?
Who talks and splatters when he eats
and spits out all his food?
.
.
Oh No! the kids then whisper
faces twisted about in horror.
Don't let him come! Don't let him come!
Please don't let him come on over!
.
His mom didn't teach him anything
when he was just a lad,
that talking, spewing and chewing
was horribly, horribly bad.
.
It's really, really, very gross
watching him eat at our own table.
It's no wonder that we up and leave
the second that we're able.
.
Well, he's coming! said my hubby.
So you can count on that, and
make sure that you treat him well,
politely matter of fact!
.
I hear a knock, knock at the door.
Perhaps it's not really him?
We could pretend that we're not home
and then not let him in!
.
Too late! The door's been opened
and he's walking right inside.
There's no place we can run to
and not a single place to hide.
.
Dinner's ready...it's on the table.
No who is he seated beside?
Oh No! make it not by me!
Can I please go eat outside?
.
Our guest is really friendly
as he chats between his bites.
A table that was clean before
is now simply quite a sight!
is now simply quite a sight!
.
Hubby glowers at each of us
as our faces turn to look away.
Yet all forks remain suspended
as his morsels go astray.
.
Tiny pieces fly right past us
and land on centre plate.
Our faces show our horror
as we view just what he ate.
.
Ewww! says a little squealing voice.
Disgusting! responds another.
Well, I'm not eating any of this!
pipes the voice of the other.
.
Our plates remain full...
For who can say just whose is whose?
Kids run to do the clean-up
and dispose of the spewed out food.
.
Don't ask him over again we plead
Because we won't stick around.
You can check in each and every room,
but we just won't be found.
.
He's not here that much you say?
Well, thank our stars for that!
Yes, I'll admit we have a story
Each time that he comes back!
